ERROR in LOCAL DISC C

HI all,
i have problem with my LOCAL DICS C that result to unable to open page on <Internet explorer and Google Chrome >pls what would i do . :x

how does it happen? what is the exact error message? what do you do to make the error appear? please state your issue in a clearer way.

the only thing i observe is i downloaded Proxy Way from one site and i discover that the stuff is not useful i deleted it ,after that i did not use my system for 2 days the 3th day i try to use internet exp and google chrome could not since then. :x

so i try to use system restore to restore previous system and a messege appear that SYSTEM can;t restore becoz ERROR IN LOCAL DISC C . :x

maybe there is a file system error, run chkdsk:

Code: Select all

chkdsk c: /f 
with the /f switch it fixes the found errors.... :wink:

yeah i would also suggest you try check disk like bad_brain said... but i would rather that you run an ubuntu or kubuntu live cd and check the health of your disk there for it might also be possible that you have a bad sector on the disk that you do not know of.

you have to use chkdsk command using /r switch on c drive.

the run will schedule on next startup

after completion if the IE or chrome does not start, try updating the system from microsoft website

Edit:
