Suggested video creator/editor?

Post by Necrix »

I come here to seek your advice.

I'll need to start editing videos soon and I'll need a free(or..almost ;)) program to do that.

Could anyone suggest anything?

I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks.

if you want really free, use Windows Movie Maker, not so free but much better is Adobe Premiere Pro CS4.

depends what kind of projects you had in mind.
if you were doing something like putting together clips from a family reunion/birthday something like that then Windows Movie Maker would be all you would need.
If you're doing something for film class/college course, something along those lines i would bump it up and use Imovie if you have mac access or adobe after effects CS5.
be prepared to look up tutorials and how-tos with after effects though if you're not familiar with it like me :?

Sony Vegas is the best software for windows apparently when i have asked people within the TV industry. For a Mac they recommend Final Cut Pro.

Are you just going to be editing and making the film or will you be using the software to live stream?

I also have at my disposal a full instruction document on how to use Sony Vegas if you like. I have a trial version too if you need at my disposal too 'cough'

My suggestion look at ubuntu studio they have quite a few different editors that may help. I found that when I was looking for recording software.
