Consequently the FOSS economic model does not favour good well-documented software as popularly claimed. What it does favour is buggy, constantly evolving software that needs support and gets dropped as people lose interest.
That pretty much sums the problem up. Writing documentation is boring (at least most hackers think so) so it's rarely done properly, who claimed that anyway? And, of course, the fact that new features are added all the time by sometimes random coders introduces a constant flow of new bugs.

I don't agree with his bs on intellectual property though, AFAIK it's mostly used by lame corporations to steal money from people and other corporations. If you come up with a great idea, isn't the big corporations using it a good thing? Isn't that what we want? to improve the general quality of software. Keeping the good things to yourself is just part of the competitive capitalist propaganda we're being hammered with throughout our lives.

(lol as usual I ended up complaining about society at the end)
