First adventures with css

Post by LaBlueGirl »

ok, tell me what ya'll think.

I am not responsible for the content or colors. I just took the source of what she had already, fixed her html, added css to it and some css effects.
So if you don't like teal-blue, don't blame me for it :)

http://fbg1.dyndns.org/~rainey/index.html

and

http://fbg1.dyndns.org/~rainey/test.html

(Yes, I know. The pages aren't named properly:))

Mainly I am interested in ya'lls opinions about the source.

Here is the original, so you can compare:

(this corresponds to test.html)

and

i think it looks better than it did, tho as a designer i do kinda have to put in my critique

the teal clashes a bit to much with the background in my opinion
in the page where it talks about the seasons, the text should start at the top of the page, if your working without layers I would recommend left aligned text then center the season pic links underneath (this wouldnt actually look to bad reversed either) if your working with layers, the text should be at the top :p

since you say its your first or perhaps a random flutter with CSS, it does look better and I will say you did good ;D

edit: to note the source of the pages the CSS looks good and clean, keep it up

Cool, what I wanted :)

I will twerk the alignment/text and see how it looks.
I knew it wasn't "right", b/c there is too much whitespace between the links and the text.

I don't like the teal, either :)
I even toned her background down a bit, but short of making it damn near transparent there is little I can do....
<sigh>

Not a random flutter, by any means.
I am bored and want to start re-building my old website (btw: does anyone have any references for Quantum Numbers and/or f(x) LOL)

I knew I could do a f*ckuva lot more with css, so I decided to give it a go.
After this, javascript, baby YEAH!

And thanks btw. I take pride in being anal with any coding/markup languages :)

Thanks, Chaos!!!
It took two or three days of "why in the hell does this not work but *this* way does?" to *understand* css, and not just parrot it:)

Not a doubt, I am enjoying myself too much to quit :)

Surprisingly, since I already learned HTML (which took some time, I admit), learning css was actually quite easy....
Only took a few hours. Surprised myself. Then, one full day to understand the why's and how's.
I wanted to run a "test case" before I started my own site, and this was the perfect opportunity.

PS: b_b or others: I am assuming since it is an Angelfire page, it (angelfire) is inserting crap into the doc so it doesn't display correctly in either browser I use (Konquerer or FF).
Anyone else have this display problem or is it just me?
Same thing with the javascript for the cutesy little sparkly mouse trail...Ain't shit sparkling on that page :)
Anyone else, or any ideas why/how to fix it?
When I localhost it, it shows up fine.

Thanks, all of ya'll.
(better late than never here, too b_b)

Not sure, where did you find it?

Off the top of my head I don't exactly know why it happened.

In the url it says it is an ad.
Angelfire offers free webspace by having so many ads.

When I clicked the link the page opens.

In short:
I don't know why you got that message, but it is something related to an ad would be my educated guess:)
