Windows 7 hangs unexpectedly

Post by z3r0aCc3Ss »

I don't know what is happening behind the scenes, but suddenly, today morning, my OS hanged.
No mouse, no keyboard, no ctrl+alt_del
Yesterday night, I had put on my comp for downloading and when I woke up, it was hanged. This happened 3 more times since then and it happened in very short intervals.
Could this because of hardware problem? Or any conflict?

Any responses?

My Config:
Intel Core2Duo E4500 @2.2 GHz
2 GB DDR2 RAM
512 MB nVIDIA 8400GS
160 GB SATA HDD
PS2 Keyboard

*I have 4-in-1 USB hub. Out of that, three ports are used. (I am using wireless mouse + two flash drives (8 GB and 4 GB) for readyboost.)

I used sfc/scannow
It gave me this error.
Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them.
I found sppcompapi.dll file corrupt. I checked in logs. It is related with WAT and activation and genuineness of Windows 7. But I have original Windows 7 Ultimate.

You can try running a linux live cd for a couple of hours, run some resource-intensive tasks and see if it hangs. If it does it's definitely a hardware problem and my guess would be the PSU.

It might be hanging up because of the power setting. Your computer may turn off after say 3 hours of no use. Check the power settings in windows.

- Run a Msconfig and see whats booting up at start time. Post back ill be looking for a reply.
