a few questions

Post by nightkid »

i got a few projects im interested in but i have no idea where to start, if anyone would help me with perhaps some keywords or a point in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated. this is for educational purposes to show in my computer class.
i will have it set up as
computer A
computer B C D
computer E

how would computer A make computer B , C , and D "attack" computer E
how to set up a small "secondary" email server but mass sending notifications to another server not them coming to check the server? would that php? and also the reverse. making a website.

i was wanting to demonstrate a small DDOS, having the 3 computers being the zombies and computer A being the Hacker's computer and computer E being the victim. nothing fancy just a small demonstration, i thought ARP poisoning intercepted packets like IMs and http requests, that sort of thing.
and i also was going to demonstrate how spammers use a box as a host to send out mass messages but that's new to me, i dont really know where to start there. i have the concept but no logic of it.

hmmm...what about making the "secondary email server" simply an open relay? that way you could use any data in the email header you want to (wrong sender address, wrong IP, etc.), because the relay will not care. many (most?) email server used for spamming are open relays...either by a bad configuration or as result of a compromise.

what email server are you using or you want to use?
