Photo album and dropdown lists

i wanna get deeper into webdesign and i am working on something little where i need to add a photoalbum i prefer something similar to the one that we have here goes it's great and i need to learn how to create dropdown menu like the one have as for an example...
so any tut's or modules you guys recommend, language ... ?

hm, do you want to use a platform like Wordpress or Joomla, or do you want to do it from scratch?
from scratch it's of course a nice opportunity to learn, but it's also not simple and can even be pretty frustrating (at least if you hate Javascript as I do :lol: ).
for navigation effects nowadays moo tools is very widely used:

for building an image gallery (actually for the effects) there are different scripts which are pretty easy to embed into own code:

first of all thank you for the links.
and i prefer to built it from scratch, 'cause as you said it's a great opportunity to learn, then when i get good at it, i can use wordpress when i feel lazy :P but at least i know how it works 8)
